Success is measured by the recurring impact profit has on people and OUR planet, which can be positive with “Fair Trade Certified” and “B-Corp” standards.
SINGLE-FAMILY MICRO-HOUSING
By taking housing development back into our own hands, we can ensure “quality” and “quantity” balances the housing market in support of home ownership that actually promotes economic stability. The housing industry is what perpetuates inequality and propels insecurity as intentionally designed by our federal government and deceptively dictated by your local municipality. Micro-housing provides opportunity to increase the supply of financeable housing while being condusive to the “physical and emotional health” of citizens.
COOPERATIVE MUNICIPALTIES
City zoning is the linchpin that restrains the supply of financeable housing – this is the greatest variable to fighting poverty. Within cities that refuse to adopt new zoning legislation in support of micro-housing, a township can be formed with a 10% vote from residents to take ownership of core municipal functions (i.e. zoning regulation). This empowers the residents, with community-elected representatives, to repurpose vacated plots of land and wasted space to replenish the economic welfare of the townspeople. Strategic industrialization and agriculture creates opportunity for “the people” to produce essential, profitable goods (including micro-housing) and services while providing employment opportunities for the community as part of the cooperative.
